Getting started

Languages

How TideReply picks the language it answers in, and which languages the chat window is shown in.

TideReply answers each customer in their own language. You don't need to translate your website or your knowledge: it can answer a question in German from English pages.

Which language the AI answers in

  • The customer's own words decide. TideReply looks at what the customer wrote, not at text they pasted, order numbers, email addresses or links.
  • Customers can switch. If a customer asks for another language, TideReply switches and keeps using it.
  • Short messages don't change it. A message like "ok" or an order number keeps the conversation's language. If a conversation starts with one, TideReply uses your default language.

TideReply answers in more than 50 languages.

Set your default language

Open Settings > General and choose a Default language. Changes save on their own.

The chat window's own text

The buttons and labels inside the chat window (for example the message box and the "send" button) are translated into 20 languages:

English, Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian, Spanish, German, French, Russian, Polish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Ukrainian, Czech, Romanian, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Turkish.

The chat window uses the visitor's browser language when it is one of these, then your default language, then English. The AI's answers still follow the customer's language either way.

Your team's language

Your team can read every conversation in its own language and reply in the customer's. See Read and reply in your language.
